What i wanted to be and what i will be

First of all, happy graduation to all recently graduated Swinburne friends!!This week was a very quick reunion of buddies and well hey, it will take a long time until all of us meet again.

At first, i thought it would be so emotional when we all meet...HAHA...but when we met, just like usual, we kept throwing pranks and playing around with each others, especially to Avery...we celebrated his belated birthday...errmmm....it wasn't really for him anyway..who cares about his birthday??XD...what we wanted was just to spray whipped cream and smack his face with icing...kinda revenge of his trespasses against us...

We had this dinner in Howdy Grill House tuesday nite...the pork ribs there are damned good!!For friends in Kuching who are interested to try, go to Brighton Square area and if u know the Kuching City Snooker or McGregor, the restaurant can be seen at the left hand side of their front door...so we smacked Avery with all the icing and cream...we sprayed to his ears man!!!LOL...dats to make him smelled like butter in his graduation day...hahah...then we chilled out for a while somewhere nearby...Tony and Rachel came to join us rite after they arrived in Kuching....after chilling out, he was like "Eh...anybody needs a ride??Really, need or not?" then we all was like...err..."It's ok, we've got our transports"...and who knows this Shell Metering Engineer got his new car Nissan Teana...bugger!!we should've made his car dirty!!LOL...

Then it was the graduation day...i arrived at BCCK around 7.30 despite being so sleepy and slightly dizzy...(see how early bird i was??)...i got the queue card for gowning around 10 mins after...i din wanna go in the gowning hall first since i wanted to get some pics with my long-prepared attire...so i waited for our gang ppl to arrive and they arrived at almost 9...haha...we were the last to actually got our regalia on...when it was about my turn...the gowning comitee ran out of stock for the hood!!GOSH!!!!!but luckily they brought in the new ones (were still wrapped in the packaging)...

then it was time to go in to the hall...geez...during the ceremony we were popping our scrolls...LOL...then after the ceremony we ran here and there for pictures...took dunno how many pics with how many different people...haha...just check our facebooks!!ah...it was very nice of mel and arvin to visit us and brought us chocolates!!thank u!!

then me,jason,avery,mel and arvin went for lunch at causeway bay..winnie and her gand were there too...haha...then we rushed back to uni to take pics in our beloved campus...jason suggested me to go to library and said "hey guys, still studying?"...but since i was so humble i din do it...HAHHA!!!after that we returned our regalia and collected our testamurs and result scripts...

so we were planning to go back home from uni...and...AND....ANDD!!!!!!!we met claire and she told us they forgot to put the Honours title in the testamurs!!!;(

wat to do???we nid to go back to uni the next day...actually we were happy becoz it meant avery nid to cancel his flight dat day...HAHAH...at nite tony and his family invited us for a dinner...yeah we talked crap again and tony's mom's fren made tony a graduation cake, it looked gud and was delicious!!

we went to have a breakfast early the next day in Tawankung noodle shop..just like old times....went there with the Shell boy's Teana....we then went to uni and settle our testamur stuffs and went to our used-to-be-second-home pneumatic lab to take some pics...prof.nazim went in there and chit chatted wif us as well...LOL...

and...dats it...we all graduated...yeah...wat a feeling...long-waited but passed just like dat...happy of course...miss the undergrad time so much...where there were sincere ppl around u and u cud be whoever u r...well everybody has his/her own path...and for me i chose to further my studies...

well funny how thing goes...i kept changing my mind of what i wanted to be since kid...

when i was in early primary school, i wanted to be a bank director coz i tot i wud be rich...
few years later, i wanted to be a mathematician and comic artist...
when i was in junior high school, i wanted to be a rockstar!!a graphic designer as well!!
when i was in senior high school, i wanted to be a physicist/mathematician/scientist...LOL!!!!!how crazy i was...well, of course i am not a very capable person, but anyways...i enjoy doing different stuffs...

then it came to my foundation (A-level) time, i was in Foundation of Engineering...despite i actually "dreamed" to take Applied Maths...cool isnt it?taking the same course as Charles Eppes??;)...at first i was confused of which course i wanted to take...from mechanical,civil,multimedia,software (i love programming since high school)...

well when i joined robocon in my second sem of foundation, my interests in robotics grew up...and well...my long-time hatred with electronics softened and yeah...i like it as i advanced thru my undergrad!!

i took robotics and mechatronics bcoz...well, a partial influence from my bro and becoz it seemed like it was the course that cud answer my interests in different areas...still..in year 1 and 2 i still dreamed to be a mathematician...but reaching year 3 til i graduated, i was involved in many many robotics and mechatronics related projects and i love it...

i realize that the best thing is always trying to enjoy what we are doing and try the best out of the things/areas that one really really has the passion in...at first i tot i wud be doing robotics stuffs after i finished my undergrad studies...but who knows...my sincere love in maths led me to further my works in it...not much robotics...but my coming works will be mostly mathematical...yeah i am so grateful about that....

to love and to be expert in one area are totally different things...i love a lot of stuffs...i love doing different stuffs...and i am never an expert in any of these...but yeah...there are always things to learn...the point is to keep on believing, get a thing that i reli love to do and pursue it...haha...just now...just now...when i finished typing the previous sentence...i finally understood what Steve Jobs tried to tell us...one's heart somehow knows what one wants to be (or something like that)...yeah...enjoying itself does not mean it is without stress and without worry and without failures...i wudnt know will my life be a success or not...but anyways...hopefully i can always keep myself appreciating my life and others', then i wud consider it a life worth living...

i promise myself this wud be my last post of my undergrads stories!!hehe...sorry to show off but i am Riady Siswoyo Jo, B.Eng (Hons) now!!^^

As mentioned in previous post...LOL...guess now ppl knew wat i meant by "leisure-time project"...

yees, it was the Freescale Cup 2011 Malaysia...an annual line-tracking robot competition held in various countries including Malaysia...Me, jason, meng and jeremy took part in this wif help of my bro....

the days before we went to competition were filled by continuous movie and chill-out outings...tony had to go to Miri to start working on the same day we went to KL for the competition....and he sent us to airport very early in the morning dat day...

err...we went there on Tuesday...it was around 10am when we reached the hotel...walked to KLCC from BB with all the robots and equipments...+_+"
had lunch straight away when we arrived...and finding the venue took us around 30 mins...fyuuhh...it wasn't clear where the venue was...but we made it on time...we quickly started preparing for the test run...(no photos included...check out our facebooks for pics)....

got back to BB for dinner and ah meng bought his new toy dat nite...hahah...went back to prepare for the next day and watch some american tv drama we put in laptop...

the next day was the day when competition actually started....we nid to pass the qualification stage in the morning and the first stage of the final in the afternoon...most of the teams made it through the qualification and hence to final...win ching came to be our only supporter since lunchtime...LOL....so kolien...we only had one supporter...the first stage of the final (the second will be on the next day) was quite a shock...but we made it through....

with the strong teams showing good jobs on the first stage, it was hard to judge who would win the final...only the final next day would answer it...well, we went for a movie dat nite...it was Contagion...a movie about global epidemic...quite a heavy movie...after hours of questions...the ending suggested that everything was a super super mere coincidence...o.O....we went back and prepared for the next day again....

next day!!gosh!!!the final...everybody was quite tense and wondering each others' strategies...the final was fast...i was quite nervous when it just started and much more relieved after the final finished...i was the one who operated the robot in Swinburne's 1st team and ah meng's from 2nd team was after me...the lunchtime was after the final and the results will be announced after that...

just before the announcement, the best i was expecting for us was one out of the top three and maybe one of best design or technical report awards...LOL...during the announcements of the best design and technical report awards, i was a bit down we didnt win...but when announced that our 1st team was the 3rd place winner...we were all super super happy....HAHAH....our 2nd team was the 2nd place winner...wew...of coz, anybody would want to be the 1st...but honestly at that point, 2nd and 3rd places for us were quite satisfactory....

took lotsa pics wif the robots, awards, trophies, mock checks (LOL...just rmb-ed cheque was the British spelling)...we quikly packed since we nid to catch a bus to Kedah as a transit point to Langkawi for holiday...aloha!!!the bus ride took the whole midnite til dawn...6 hours...:)...still shorter than the bus trip back to pontianak from kch...haha...took a ferry to Langkawi when we reached Kuala Kedah...

Langkawi was a nice place...not too big, not too small, traffic not too slow, not too fast, ngam ngam just nice like dat...went to one of the shopping malls (perhaps the only one?)...everything was so cheap man!!!!!!!!!!especially exported stuffs....Langkawi is a duty-free place...LOL...i got an original pair of Hush Puppies slippers for 80 bucks!!ate MarryBrown there...din rmb wat did i take but the wasabi fries was nice!!we went to underwater world...nice aquatic experience there!!!spent hours there...went to Jai Cafe for dinner...the black pepper beef...tsk tsk tsk...so rich in taste!!!after that....shopping time!!!!went to buy drinks and chocolates!!!:D...we chilled out in the apartment we stayed while watching spiderman 3 on TV!!so nostalgic...

we went to the beach the next day...played para-sailing (superb!!) and jet skiing!!swim swim a bit and it was sunset already...the sunset was beautiful!!went for dinner in a seafood restaurant...okok lah..not bad only...went for the last shopping and got back to apartment since we nid to be in the jetty very early in the morning...

got back to KL and finally in Kuching the next day...well arrived in kuching like around midnite...it was damn damn damn tiring...

not much updates in kch the next week except a dinner wif ah meng...LOL...ah meng went to SG last saturday for work...

came to think about it...everybody in our gang has walked their own path....hmm...our convo will be one of the soonest reunion!!!haha...again...cant wait for it!!but before that...work work work!!!

A New Chapter

OMG!!it's such a surprise that i don't feel sleepy at all at this kinda time...Reason was simple...I spent too much time sleeping in the morning and afternoon...

Well, Haven't blogged anything since I've got my last sem's results out...We've been working on some leisure-time project which might end in 1-2 weeks time...Pretty sure all of us start working after that (yeah!!)...hmm..now i finally understand the feeling of being jobless after studies finish...it's not cool at all...it was nice having a lil' break after final exams..but..honestly...i felt uncomfortable not getting something to start my future...hunted here and there...turned down...but Thank God, recently had an opportunity...

Then, i realized what a friend told me was right...everything is there for a reason..of course a person could not make everything suits his/her preference..but at the very least...one can still try to look for opportunities and do something...doing something we like or not does not matter with happiness much after all..happiness comes from the bottom of our hearts...by trying to understand and putting some joys in it, we might find the things we don't like could actually be interesting at some points...learning what we were not good in can be fun because there are more things to look for...more things we realized we are not good in...

I realized i've been a bit laid back during my holiday time...felt demotivated...so i guess everyone has to go through it, rite? well, some people that i know having their working lives did tell me about having enough holidays before going to work..and again...i keep on feeling i haven't got enough holidays but nobody has anyway...so why not try to do something?i somehow felt a bit enlightened right now and i hope i can be more determined to whatever i need to do and to be...

New chapter is coming and it's my duty to open my heart and arms...hope i will have the strength to go for it!!!oh yeah..me and buddies will have our convocation in end of october (gosh!!just can't wait to feel those regalia on me, man!!!!) no longer undergrads!!

eeeeeyyyyyy.....yesterday was the day our final sem's results came out!!!din reli wanna wake up dat morning til i received jason's n avery's msg saying it was out...and after seeing that then it was confirmed that i am now an official ah B.Eng...hahah...many movies came and coming out on this dunno-when-finish-holiday...those movies we watched during holiday were:

1.Pirates 4 -> not much suspense...gud story line and choice of actors and actresses tho
2.X-Men 1st class -> err...not bad...but still so so for me...
3.Super 8 -> if u treated it as kids' movie..this is a two-thumbs-up movie!!if u want to treat is as serious movie then...(aiyah the main characters all kids only lah k??)
4.Bliss -> failure...
5.Transformers 3 -> better than 2nd one...i think it was good...eventho rotten tomatoes rated it at 36%...cant blame tho...they've made the 3rd one very very nice and carefully...but almost all of the components are in the 2nd one...so no new stuffs...wew i like brit actress now...hahah...

hmm...there are stuffs to do this holiday anyway...LOL...but thr will always be some rooms for us to enjoy ourselves...

anyway...damn many many many things happened this sem...err...din exactly knew how to get all those fast pace happenings rite tho...maybe shouldn't even have tried to get myself in it...honestly this last semester drove us to final semester syndrome...checked out the Master of Universe's Advanced Learners' Dictionary and it translates as:

The syndrome or situation whereby tertiary student undertaking his/her last semester studies is being lazy and procrastinating the academic works due to the sickness of the academic life and due to the insecurity about what happens during the last semester's final and what might happen just after the studies finish.

this one reli hit, especially me badly...LOL...i was reli reli demotivated to study during finals...yeah i did study but i spend most hours of the day playing around and facebooking...Thank God everything went well tho...^^

owh yeah...yesterday too!! we celebrated jason's bday!!! belated tho...by one day...and surprisingly there is another group of youngsters celebrating bday too...a girl's tho...so we teased jason n both of them had a brief introduction n get to know each other...HAHA....funny thing is we gave jason a red angry bird cake...and she got one from her frens too...O.o...

hmm...after graduation...we all have to walk on our own footsteps already...each of us getting our own job in various places...but i believe we should be on the path we chose...err...it wasn't reli the first time i felt this tho...i felt this when i left my school for foundation 5 yrs back...but came to think...it was sad but i din regret tho...just take it...coz nth's as bad as it feels...

life's is about transitions tho...moving from one phase to another is a thing, living its phases is another thing too...have been wondering lately...maybe shud introspect myself on it...wat have i done in my life so far? in other ppl's lives so far? what have other ppl's done to my life so far? not all gud but so far so gud anyway...no complain...haha...not gonna bring any gud if there is...thanks for all the gud stuffs and sorry for all the bads...

wah...i wrote so much leh!!planned to watch some old dvds but in the end stopped the movie n started blogging...hahah...have gud days everybody!!

Mr. Big - What If

I accidentally found something in the internet while resting my mind off the study mood...and guess what...as I reviewed Mr.Big's reunion few blog posts ago, I'd never expected that they will actually REUNITE in the sense of bringing the band back into something new, new records, new songs, new energy but with the same old band that i know....and YES!!! Mr. Big has recorded a full-length studio album titled "What If..." and it will be released sometimes January next year.

As a teaser they released the official music video for the first single of the album, "Undertow"

what a nice music!!! well, since Mr.Big had given me much influence in life, i would like to discuss this album in my own personal opinion. The album name, "What If..." is very inspirational to me. It means trying something new, opening new doors, thinking of what will happen, how to do it, how to make it happen. "What If..." for me shows that they still have the energy, the ideas, the charisma to be one of the best rock bands in the world despite the fact that they are not young anymore.

The MV of the song "Undertow" I posted above is too damn good. One thing we can notice is that the recording definitely doesn't sound like a typical 80's-90's recording quality. It has the ambience of modern rock sound but it doesn't lack the distinct sound we expect from the old Mr.Big. Really love the pre-solo part where Billy and Paul played the licks together.

Prom Night 2010

Huff....it's really been a long time since i updated my blog (what a cliche)....

Well...since I wrote my last blog post about some maths stuff (pls if u don't like maths i recommend u not to read it), many things has happened to my days....

umm...basically we (me, my bro, meng hong, jeremy, jason, avery, steven, kk, shafiq) were DAMN busy wif robocon 2010...robocon is an annual asia-pacific robot contest for undergraduates....well with all the limitations and some guts..we took the initiative to participate in the national level...well since my bro is now a PhD student, he acted as our team manager and mentor...the rest of us were just learning and wanna know how far could we go....^^

For more than 15 weeks we tried so hard....slept in uni for few weeks....went to kenyalang at 4am for breakfast almost everyday after work...fyuhhh...but what to do? all other participants were also working their a**es off...we went to kl for competition (after taking 2 final papers on the same day)....lost one game to past champion MMU and won one game over UiTM...which made us not eligible to compete in the round of 16...we went back wif some disappointment and took two more final papers....exhausting rite??haha...

I was a bit worried about my result for that semester but wow...i still managed to get the scholarship...haha...

after having a nice holiday, we all started the first semester of our final year...yes we have to do a final year project (not going to talk bout it) and it will be due next year.....

PROM NIGHT??yes we loved to have one...it was our last....i went to 2006's and 2007's to perform....and i think after that i did perform in 2008 swin nite....and since then i was too busy handling tuition classes and studies++" so i didn't get any chance to go to 2008 and 2009 prom

but this year is our last...we had to go and make something special...so we decided to perform again...of coz wif different lineups....Jason on trumpet, Steven on keyboard, my bro Hudy on drums, Russell on bass, Anthony on vocal and me on guitar....We played Smooth from Santana and Butterfly from Jason Mraz....aiyoh...we did try our best but honestly speaking those two songs were quite hard to play...so at some points i screwed up a bit...haha...all other performers were also showed their best....The Elixirs (actually there is a guitar string brand called Elixir), The Little Big Band, Soul Dance, Farah, Meow, etc....

Well it was a great night...but the bad thing was that we had to queue up to take our meals (prom ok??prom...)...the rest was fine...owh..yeah...i bought a hat for myself so that I could look like Santana...just kidding...just kidding....i respect him but i did not want to be him...if anyone notice...actually the first 8 bars of the guitar solo that i played last night was my own lick...hehe....the last 8 was Santana's....

We had our evil plan to get Avery as the Prom King and Annie as the Prom Queen....but it failed...AAARGGGHHH.....too bad.....but looking at the conditions i think i have the potential to be the Prom King...ooppppzzzz....we took lotsa picture...those pics should be out on "The Social Network" soon...it was not disappointing at all to have a last prom like this (despite i prefer the live band to be on the middle stage)....

Done with all the prom mood....next week will be a killing week...there will be FYP1 report due....but we did write some stuffs....so hopefully we can get it done nicely by the submission date....^^

Tonite, i went to stakan badminton court to play badminton wif my frens. Right after we finished playing, Natalius ask me what is the answer for

wait wait...let's get it slowly...haha...for frens who dunno wat does i mean, it is actually called an imaginary unit in mathematics. Simply speaking, when we first learned about squares, for example

we knew that it is impossible for a any real numbers to have a square of a negative number. Or let us put it this way, what is the value of

so mathematicians created a so called imaginary unit i (why it is imaginary?because it is not real, haha, if u know the area of a square with the side length of 2 is 4, means square of area 4 should have side length of 2. then if u have square of area of -1, what is the side length??) to define

When Natalius asked me for the solution of

But he also explained that

After i researched on some texts, then finally i found out about these:
1. is only valid only if a and b are non-negative real value.

2. There is a common misunderstanding of notation. Normally if we are asked for
, we will answer "2", but "-2" is also another root of 4 since
, but the rule for operator is that it is the operator to find the "principal square root" of x.

Principal square root is the non-negative root of an non-negative real number, or meaning to say, writing is wrong. When we let , the possible solutions are But when is asked, the correct solution is only

LOL.....today is my birthday...but i have already been in so called "birthday mood" for few days already...haha.....

Long ago before final started, our friends (includes partially me) led by Lucas planned to celebrate the birthdays of three of us (Annie's, Ming2x's n mine)...

The celebration was held on 5th....our whole big gang (no nid to mention one by one lah hor) arrived at BDC Shuang Tian Steamboat...n w/out further due we COOK n EAT until my "small" tummy getting bigger and bigger "by a bit"......LOL....we ate until around err...was it 9??yeah i think so....then we start the candle blowing....LOL.....i was lucky to have only 2 candles to pull since it was my 20th....haha so i pulled it out very quickly...LOL....annie n ming2x also pulled the candles...

annie got an acoustic guitar from us as b'day present n she was so happy since she said she wanted it b4 haha.....ming2x got A LOT OF PRESENTS......wew.....almost each one of us bought hers separately.....so we all hope that she will tutor other subjects for us n give us super-high-or-full marks for the subjects...hehe.....as me..i got two very nice n rocks guitar souvenirs...haha.....

after the celebration we go sing KTV.....wew....it was very nice as i sang a lot of rock songs....like New Divide (sang it very terribly)....some GnR songs, Santana's,MLTR's,etc.....i got sing one mandarin song (one that i noe how to sing..haha) it was "Zui Jin" by "Li Sheng Jie".....lolx....n we sang some funny songs n after dat we get back dy....it was very tiring...haha...

anyway nothing much happens few days after dat...only me trying to clean the mess i made during the semester...haha....wash some clothes,etc...practise some xmas song, santana-ing and paul gilbert-ing my electric guitar...haha....

this wednesday me+my bro+my housemates celebrated my bday again....haha....we ate steamboat again....but much healthier one....coz take a lot of vege in front of my bro...haha.....if wif frens i dun bother taking all meat...LOL......after dat we went to the cinema to watch Ninja Assassin. anyway the movement n all dat was nice but it was a bit worthless to be watched in cinema...wat to do..i insisted to watch it haha.....

then thursday!!!which just passed around 3 hrs ago was my real birthday!!!haha.....received a lllooootttt of wishes (attached below becoz i wanna "kek" jason....hehe) n ming2x bought me a box of dark chocolate....haha...thx a lot ya!!i reli like dark chocolate very much.....i got quite a lot of wishes around 12am...one even super accurate at 00.00 from jia2x.....haha....thx ya!!oh yeah....i went to uni this afternoon and some staffs even wish me happy birthday.....haha....it was reli surprising...^^

WHAT THE HELL!!!!WE FINISHED FINAL EXAM ALREADY!!!!

after 17-week CHASING for assignments, home works, tests and most importantly eating the engineering management 1 notes....(vomit!!!yyaaalllllkkk!!!) finally we finished everything peacefully by finishing our last paper today (well kind of)....haha

HAPPY HOLIDAY, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Big, Bigger, Biggest

Well ppl that have been with me during secondary school time will realize that that this the greatest hits album title to my favorite rock band, Mr.Big!!!!!

Well, it's pretty normal for somebody who learn to play electric guitar to be first obsessed by the "must know" rock band such as Guns N' Roses and Bon Jovi...even me as well.....I was a big fan of Guns N' Roses and partially a fan of Bon Jovi.....because of them I started to be more serious in learning guitar....

In my 9th grade my good friend introduced me to Mr.Big and guess what, I like some of their songs without even know that band's name...My brother's band played one of their greatest ballads, 'Wild World' and after that i bought two of their albums (no downloads that time ok??), 'Big, Bigger, Biggest' and 'Deep Cuts:The Best Of Ballads'......

Let's get to some background about the band,
It started in 1989 by four great musicians from right to left:
1. Paul Gilbert on guitar (he is the reason I chose Gilbert as my Christian name during baptism)
2. Eric Martin on vocals (after Mr. Big disbanded in 2002, he pursued his solo career and became famous in Japan)

They gained their popularity during the late 80's and early 90's....At 1996, Paul left the band because he wanted to start his solo career and Ritchie Kotzen (which is another great guitarist) came and replaced him until Mr. Big officially disbanded in 2002....

Early this year, Billy featured Paul in his solo project and after few weeks getting together again, both of them started with an idea to reunite Mr.Big again!!!!!And I am very happy of that!!!!!

Four of them started their Reunion World Tour in early July and still running now.....Their released their live DVD and CD taken from their concert in Budokan, Japan...here is the cover

Well, here is some reviews of the songs I like most from them (I like to categorize their songs as ballad or metal song):

1. Wild World (Ballad)
Previously released by Cat Stevens in 70's...The song is some kind like a farewell song for a girl who move to other place (for study?? work?? I dunno)

2. Green Tinted Sixties Mind (Ballad/Metal)
The first song which has tapping techniques that I mastered in 9th grade...it was pretty lousy when I first played...I guess now is much better....It has a very nice slow rock tune....Ritchie played the tapping part using picking.....so pro....I am practicing it nowadays....

3.Shine (Ballad)
This is the song they played with Ritchie and it was the soundtrack for the anime Hellsing.....I like the acoustic version.....

4.To Be With You (Ballad)
I helped some of my friends to get their girlfriends by performing this song....like "This song is requested by X to Y"...by the end of the song X and Y are couples already....
One of my best friends told me recently that he confessed to his first girlfriend using this song also....nice lyrics and guitar strum

5.Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy (Electric Drill Song) (Metal)
Never tell ppl that you are Mr. Big's fan without even knowing this song...90% of their concert started with this song....During the solo (duet actualy coz Paul and Billy very kiasu and always do solo together) they played the guitar on the third string using Makita Battery Drill...LOLX

6.Addicted to That Rush (Metal)
Another super-fast-with-speed-of-light song.....Billy exposed a lot of tapping in the song....one of their first metal songs

7.Anything For You (Ballad)
Their first single...Paul used his orange-color Laney amps during the recording...^^

8.Superfantastic (Ballad)

9.Promise Her The Moon (Ballad)

10.Just Take My Heart (Ballad)
There are two versions to this song, one by Ritchie and one by Paul...Both are very nice, but Ritchie's version is more bluesy as Paul's version is more to slow rock

For me, this is very suitable for wedding song....because they have some strings ensemble over there....VEEERRRRYYYY nice solo.....a lot of emotion....a famous Indonesian Teenlit novel 'Nothing But Love' is fully inspired by this song...my Economics teacher in high school, Mr.Raco heard this song when we played it in the class's DVD player and he said "This is very nice song"

12.Seven Impossible Days (Ballad)
It is a very meaningful song and relaxing...I'll post the lyrics below...very short song (2mins +)

well i guess i don't nid to say that this sem is very bad....haha...everyone feels it oredi....

and i guess i dun nid to say i had a whole lotta assignments, labs or whatever the names are....

err....these days really both very fun and very bad....last two nights we ene n rnm ppl had bbq at a park near alice's house to celebrate her birthday and also to release some (much actually) stress after series of tests and everything...we were so high that day...haha....lol there was one funny story....our fren's car key was locked inside his car at that place...then all of us helping him by trying to somehow open the car door....haha then i oso dunno how...by using ruler i was playing around with the lock and it was unlocked...lol....very interesting...haha...but i was really sorry to my fren who was the owner of the ruler coz i bent it too much and the printed text on the ruler was scratched....sorry lik ming...

oh....during the bbq we did a lot of crazy things like icing ppl,run here run there,playing with everything we can play there.....the playground was very nice....i wish i had one in front of my house oso.....haha.....err it's impossible to actually explain and elaborate all of them haha...coz we were there since 9pm to 2am....i'm waiting steven to post all the pictures...haha...since he was the only pro photographer there we just left everything to him....haha....but he is oso very busy...i couldn't ask him to post...haha....but i really can't wait to see those!!!!

haiyah....this sem really very CHOO...got a lot of things to do

first, we had MD2 test last week and it covers 6 chapters...LOL....and the lecturer asked us to do the tutorial for the 6 chapters..haha....and all of us submitted like around 30+ pages of tute solution....LOL....but it helps us a lot in the test...haha...but I am quite disappointed with the test result.....chicken....i threw away so many marks just because i keyed in the wrong number to my calculator....SHIII...ITTTO!!!nvmlah..haha...but the lecturer said he will only take the highest 2 test marks out of 3....so i still have 2 chances...hehe...

last friday i oso started japanese class organized by swinburne japanese language club....lol...it's quite interesting...we learned like simple conversation in japanese.....

on saturday i began toturing my foundation students (now they are in degree oredi) a bit about maths and more about C programming....LOL....mmm....i think their C syllabus are a bit...i dunno....strange...because they have only 1 hour lecture and 3 hour lab per week....i mean....how much can we learn in 1 hour lecture...+_+"....but they are fast learners so no much prob...haha....i did quite fast actually....but i think they can cope with it...

this week....ummm.....haha.....wait...seems like i forgot what i did on monday and tuesday...haha.....oh!!!!!on monday nite we had Mathematica lab....i felt the Mathematica software is very pro!!!!!!Just like our lecturer said, Mathematica is good for mathematics applicaton....but from other ppl's experiences...Matlab's still the best for engineering!!!!haha

just now i had structural mechanics test....lol.....luckiliy not that hard...haha....but i did made some mistake in calculation at first but finally i erase almost the whole question and redo again.....+_+"....haha....

2molo we oso have maths quiz...lol....eventhough i like maths...but i din touch maths a lot this sem....LOL....bcoz the other subjects' workload also beyond wat human can sustain...^^...sorry maths...i still love you but i'm busy with the others....LOL...

OK!!!!so what to do now????SLEEEPPP!!!!i think i am really lack of sleep!!!!but dunno why...even when i slept like 7-8 hours...when i wake up still very sleepy.....haizzz....

lol now just finished the first week of the new semester....yeah like usual there was nothing much to do on the first week....haha....by the way this sem swinburne come out with new enrolment policy that tutorial group enrolment are done based on first come first serve basis....so on the enrolment day we have to "wrest" with ppl when we're enrolling to particular tute groups that are the most wanted...haha....yeah....i understand why some ppl feel bad wif this new policy....but i think it's quite alrite coz u wont noe whether a system could work well until u actually put it into action....

so since they were no tute classes tis week so on monday i only have embedded microcontroller and machine dynamics 2 lecture....well just like usual the subjects seem to be fun...haha...(i always post this sentence on my blog almost on every starting of the semester...lol....so when i stressed out wif assignment i can read my blog again and reduce the stress...haha)...well same on tuesday.....but it's not the same on wednesday!!!

haha it's because there was a Maths class!!!!YEAH!! i missed it <---why i so high??XP....haha....well i always feel high and enthusiastic in Maths class...haha....i think i shud cool down...lol....then after class our boss avery "chia" us sushi king...hoho....thx avery^^...well hope u will get good results this sem....ummm not because i want u to chia me...haha....but because i noe u r hardworking and u can do it!!!

there were 12 of us who went to sushi king....5 boys and 5 girls....well so the other "TWO" are.....HAHA...i was just kidding....there were 6 boys and 6 girls...i dunno who come out wif this plan but we had a wasabi contest lol.....tis is the rule....we have 6 pieces of sushi-es (is tis the proper prular form of sushi?) for each gender..haha...then the opposite gender must put as much wasabi as possible to 3 of the 6 sushies and put them nicely so no one can easily see which ones are wasabi-ed...hehe...my english pro rite?i made my own vocab..haha....then each member of the gender must choose the sushi....if u r lucky then u will get the un-wasabi-ed one...then after that u must finish it one go....lol....i got the one which they said having the most wasabi....yeah....it was so hot...haha....but i can manage to finish it without sheding tears or vomitting....at first i tot the girls would cry but they were ok...lol tat was disappointing coz even my eyes turned red lol...maybe we guys put too less wasabi?haha..

on thursday we have 830 to 1030 class then after tat we play badminton at campus' MPH until afternoon then we have a one hour Careers in Curriculum class starting at 530...lol...we nid to wait so long for this class....but i think this subject is nice coz the purpose of this subject is to teach us to improve important skills that are useful towards our future career...yeah i always have problems when i do this that requires a lot of paperwork...lol...i mean i really nid to improve myself in using proper and formal languages...hehe

lol today is the most tiring day in this week...i played badminton straight from 4 pm to 9+ pm...lol...but i had quite a lot of break oso.....haha...by the way i think it was quite fun...i am looking forward to play badminton again...haha....

Melodies of Life

Hi everybody!!I just recorded instrumental Melodies of Life (Final Fantasy IX soundtrack) on my classical guitar...hehe....

Well the music sheet is from Final Fantasy Guitar Solo Collection but I din play the same as it b'coz at some parts I felt more comfortable playing my own way....The original song is on played on E but the music sheet is arranged on D...so I capoed my guitar to transpose it 2 half steps (1 step)...Since my fingers are not very good in fingerstyle picking, there are a lot of playing mistakes that I couldn't avoid...^^

At first, when I recorded it I though the sound will have a lot of noise but finally it's not that bad...haha....but the thing is the sound's sustain is very bad...and the low tone is very hard to hear....haha.....

My guitar pre-amp

As I mentioned on my previous post..I finally built my guitar pre amp...haha…

Since this circuit works when I tried it on breadboard, so I started building the circuit, but my bro asked me to check the datasheet for C9013 and C9014 NPN BJT datasheet (the original circuit uses C9014 transistor as the amplifier but we have a lot of C9013 in our house) and after it we saw that C9013 has higher gain and also it’s more commonly used in audio application…so we switch the transistor to C9013….and….this is the circuit

at first I planned to built it outside the guitar pickup..seems like the circuit is small enough to fit inside the pickup control case

So I dismantled the pickup case and there are only 2 potentiometers ,one for volume and one for tone control and one capacitor as low pass filter…

Yups the circuit actually can fit into the case but the original potentiometer is too big…so I changed it with a smaller one

Then there is one more problem….if I want to put the circuit inside the small case, where I can get the power supply? At first I was thinking of putting 2 cable out from the case, one is for the audio and one for the supply…but since the audio signal is mono (don’t have left and right), then my bro came up with this brilliant idea….

This is the audio jack that is used originally (male jack is shown so it’s easier to see)…it has 2 electrical contacts….one for audio and one for ground…but we bought a stereo jack that has 3 electrical contacts so we can add-on the +9V supply for the circuit power supply

By modifying the wiring, we need to make a custom cable for this pickup to work…so we bought a male-to-male 3.5mm stereo cable and modified one of the cable ends…

We tried to plugged it into my guitar amp and it sounds ….errrrmm….not bad….haha….but when I plugged it into the DI box and then plugged the output to my PC sound card it sounds nice….^^

i'm back!!! haha....tat's wat i gonna say...

oh rite...talk about my holiday again^^

on mid December 2008 i spent most of my time in school coz i was asked by my lecturer to help demo-ing some engineering projects at campus on Open Day....and just after one day after the Open Day i went home!!!!

the first week at home...well...on the first two days it was a high tide around my house...Thank God it wasn't went into my house but we can't go anywhere...++

since i really had nothing to do...so i went to my house's small storeroom to find my oldies things....haha....i found a removable guitar pickup and some of my old Physics and Maths books that i bought in my sec school for fun...(lol i was quite fanatics to those thing when i was in secondary)...eventhough i'm now so lazy to read those books, i kept it...haha...

the one that i read was only "Revolusi Fisika:Dari Alam Gaib Ke Alam Nyata" which literally translates to "Revolution of Physics:From Mystical World To The Real World" ^^...it was written by a Dutch scientist who lived in Indonesia for quite sometime....the book has no (which many ppl expected) equations..haha...coz it talks about the history of Physics and how ppl's perception about the universe changes from time to time....^^

my sis and my bro-in-law sent my parents a disc which contains their baby pictures...wah...so cute ler their baby...^^ his name is Jason...and because he was so cute haha then i went to sketch a picture of him...hehe...

well it was not really similar since it was a half-hour sketch ^^ and i'm still learning...after i showed the sketch to my dad...he asked me to put some wording...and guess what...i asked my dad to teach me how to write my name in ancient Chinese font coz i wanted to put my "name stamp"on the sketch...hoho...so that's it i put my chinese name and my "Rea D Ace" signature to the sketch...it's so bad that the paper i used are quite old one so the color is so dark...but there's no more rough surface papers in my house...haha...so i sent it to my sis and i'm so happy coz she said that the sketch was so cute...haha...

rite...then after that when my bro was back from 23rd to 25th December we went to church coz we are the member of the church's choir...i think this year's better than last year's...well no offense to the previous guys^^...but i think there are many good newcomers^^...

on i forgot which day..haha...my good frenz and i went to watch Madagascar 2:Escape From Africa...then after that we went to eat famous Pontianak's kweh tiaw and mee...hehe....really so delicious lah...for friends who never been to Pontianak..if u happen to be there u shud try!!!yeah and that nite was fun...haha...coz sure there must be funny things u wanna talk to old frenz if u din meet them for long time^^

then on the last few days of 2008 and the first few days of 2009 i got a real bad cough and fever...so i din really enjoy any old and new celebration...haha^^

ok so after that i went back to Kuching again...^^and it was quite tiring for us for last week and early of this week coz we move our house again...haha...but luckily very near so no much problem...just that now the house is extremely messy coz we just finished moving the things and we havent tidy up yet....

then yesterday results for this sem is out again!!!then i'm so happy again coz i got straight HDs again...^^...but seems like the coming semesters are going to be tougher than this sem...so got to keep it up again!!

ok so i bring the pickup i found in my home in my hometown to kuching...haha....my bro and i try to listen what it's like..but even after i plugged it in to my guitar amp then sound still not loud or which is in fact, not hearable.....so he suggested me to built a guitar preamp....we found a quite nice circuit on the web that uses a JFET...but so bad the electronic shop we went today is not selling that particular JFET then when we look around the shop then we saw a mic preamp circuit then my bro asked the tauke whether he sell that circuit or not...but unfortunately the PCB is out of stock but he has the schematic for the circuit...so i went to make a copy and buy the components from him...

well as a very educating brother...haha....my bro just left me to do the thing...well obvoiusly i would need his help sooner or later...then i put the circuitry to a breadboard/protoboard....and yes...i works!!!!eventhough the preamp has a bit noise in the signal but my bro said it was still tolerable....^^....yay yay yay...so happy again!! haha...if i had nothing to do i'll bulit the circuit on Veroboard and then finally i can plug my classical guitar to the amp....!!

hmm...this holiday....almost everyday i spent my time not in home...haha....let's see....on last week's tuesday and wednesday i stayed at school almost the whole day till afternoon...hehe...see?? i am so diligent rite? even no class still go school...haha.....actually went there to DL heroes and other muvees lah...haha....on thursday ah.....well let me see....owh...that day i clean my room and my study table as i promised to myself...haha....but now get a it messy again....u noe lah...boy's room mah...haha....

on the thurs nite...we(e&e and r&m) classmates went to richmond place to celebrate our classmate, Annie's B'day as well as saying goodbye to our very kind DED lecturer (sure can get HD if she happens to read this post...haha....just kidding lah hor...haha), Ms.Michelle Kam, who is going to pursue her PhD in S'Pore....that nite very fun...haha....ppl play icing icing lah....luckily i only kena a bit and i din ice other ppl....haha...they were 19 of us....i think our table was the crazist and noisiest table lah....everyone look at us...haha....then after that all of us went to open air market to have some ais cendol....haha....actually we planned (avery's plan actually) to watch a thriller movie, quarantine.....wah so damn good man that movie!!!!!wahlao....song ah....initially i though they were many ppl join us to watch...but bcoz they misinterpret the movie as a ghost movie...so it's only few of us go watch...all the girls very scared one so none of them join except alice...but in the cinema she also scream a lot...haha....by the way....for those who din watch qurantine...it's really good.....shud watch one....but make sure u have some frens accompany u lar....^^LOL

on friday....^^we (me,giat liang,frederick,soon how, "jason" lung ge and foo kiong) as well as most of kch ppl went to PC fair....haha...well many of our swinburne buddies went to become promoter there....haha....wah...it means many swinburne ppl are pro in PC lar...haha^^....i went there for three times...LOL....haha....on the last day of PC fair we bought an EPSON T10 printer....we thought it was the very nett price oredi coz it's already quite late at nite so we bought it lor...but after we buy then when we passed by another shop then we see the same product sold rm6 cheaper than the price we bought...so sayang....++"...but at least it's still a lot cheaper than normal price lar...

yesterday...mmm....i mean two days ago...haha....now oredi wednesday...i went out with giat liang and foo kiong...haha....they bought me a b'day present^^..thx alot guys....and we hang out until 12 o'clock noon...then after that i went home and after that go to Boulevard with my kuching family...^^...wah my bro and i dunno where to go lor....boulevard doesnt really have much things to see...so we went to almost every shop (except baby shop, girlie shop and fashion shop) back and forth...haha....but we spent quite a long time in popular bookstore reading books....but bcoz there's no place to sit then we go lor...haha...then...my bro decided to go ipoh kopitiam (a restaurant name) and order some coffee and read magazines provided there...the restaurant has actually outdoor sitting place where we can see a nice view of kuching (actually arang road only lar)...u noe what??we actually stay there for about 3 hours+...lame rite??^^.....but the magazines are quite entertaining....since both of us din subscribe any of them...we only read online news...the nice things of the magazines are they have many things related to interior design, architecture and also visual arts stuffs which i'm interested a lot in...well eventhough they are not my fields...LOL^^....

today....i mean tuesday...(again++")...i really stayed at home the whole day except just now in the afternoon i went to buy some drinks^^coz the weather extremely hot man!!!yupz today i din really do much things...just watch some Numb3rs and the newest episode of Heroes....wah..Heroes extremely good ah...so sayang i can only watch the next few episodes after i return in 2009....boh pian have to spend x'mas home coz miss home a lot...haha...and every year i spend x'mas there...^^

ok lar seems like i'm running out of battery....2 am oredi...very sleepy liao...need to go campus to do some stuff somemore at the morning...so i better sleep first lar....adios!!!

YEAH!!!the third sem finally has come to its end...hahaha....today is really a super duper tiring day i guess...got 2 papers, MD1 on the morning and CE1 on the afternoon...

as for MD1 i think it's OK..haha...but unfortunately i made a silly mistake bcoz of not reading the ques carefully...haha..

for CE1 it's really...fyuuhh...the time is so limited and the question are tougher than what i expected...but still managed to finished on time....i think most of my answer scripts are full with correction liquid...haha

So....for holiday...these are the things i wanna do..haha...
1. Clean and tidy up my room and my study table...wah...really so messy...papers scatter everywhere...LOL
2. Download and watch One Piece...
3. Download Heroes ep 11 and 12....(from 13 onwards i balik kampung...so after i come back then i continue watch...hoho)
4. Practice guitar....hehe...i just tabbed the guitar version of Final Fantasy's "Eyes On Me"...but havent practiced well...if oredy ok i'll try to record it...
5. Format my PC!!too many virus oredy...
6. Sleep!!!want to take revenge for previous month's sleeping hour...
7. Go home 4 x'mas...
8. Practice my pencil drawing again...
9. Play badminton!!wah...so long dun play oredy...haha...wants to lose some weight...
10.If it's oredy sold in my hometown, i want to buy the last book of The Tales of The Otori "Heaven's Net is Wide"
11.Play Who Has The Biggest Brain on Facebook!!!
....and so on...

a lot rite???haha....by the way this Thursday, 4 December 2008, Digital Electronics Design students for this sem are invited to join the dinner with our lecturer in Richmond Place on 6.30 PM...for those who are not informed yet,pls feel free to join us (eventhough i'm quite sure not many ppl are reading this blog..haha)...FYI: the ones who get involve will get bonus mark....haha...no lar just kidding^^..

By the way the storm nowadays are very tualat (powerful)...2 days ago the modem in my house got burn...++....really smells like something burn...and suddenly the electricity was down...i thought it was blackout for whole sarawak like few months ago..haha...but finally we realized that the breaker is down...haha...funny lar...

for friends that havent finished their papers,gambatteh!!!hope u guys can finish the exam well!!

by the way the monday final....++" i hope the stuffs i studied will come out...lol....havent really touched CE1 yet....if MD1 i redo the "tutorial" questions only...xp...haha (so why still write blog?!!)...kinda bored studying....but i also spent quite alot of time play play ler...haha...i even still have time to learn 2 songs on guitar...haha....gonna tab it and practise more after final...

so now no more class test for this sem!!!!YEAH!!!!but it doesn't make any difference coz final is coming very soon...haha....luckily TSD assignment almost done...left DED...but oredi start a bit lar...haha....wah within this week i think a lot of what i'd like to do after final...go eat,watch movies,play guitar and of course balik kampung for x'mas...haha...but i wont balik early lar...i wait for my housemate Nat to finish his final....and i prefer spending my birthday here...hohoho...luckily every year my birthday is after final x'am...so i can enjoy my b'day "peacefully"...hehe

few days ago i just do some maintenance to my guitar...^^almost this whole sem nvr take care of it....i change all the strings,clean it, polish it and anything i can do to it lah...haha....oredi 1 year+ since the last time i use D'Addario strings....i like it very much....especially when u change ur strings.....it's so easy to get in tune...if other cheap strings u tune 2-3 times oso not in tune....have to wait 1-2 days baru u can tune it to normal tune...i kinda lazy to post my guitar photo...hoho....coz my house's internet connection is not that fast.....

i back to my old habit again...stay up late...haha.....but i try to sleep early as it would not be good for my health....3 weeks ago i was sick bcoz of not enuf sleep...haizz...pek check ah....but now oredi healthy healthy lar...ok lar...i sleep first....

Hard days begin...

Woah....i just realised that our hard days started...first...of course the Technical Software Development assignment...wahlao wei....a lot of thing to do lar....and we are given about 4 week+ to do....actually i want to start soon but got other subject need to study some more...the circuits and electronic subject....got about 4-5 tutorials still havent start +_+"....but at least the solution is oredi posted haha...so can look look abit lar...other subject still ok lar...but DED assignment still haven posted yet ler...now oredi week 10 liao...heard from senior that the assignmnet very tough...dunno how lar...haha...got another subject...it's MD1...i think we supposed to have 4-5 lab experiment but no one oredi accomplished...

tonight i went to hartz chicken to celebrate our engineering maths tutor, Ms.Chong's birthday...the idea come from my junior...(well i know him from Ms.Chong oso)...haha...his name is Siong Huo (sory if spell wrong)...Mmm...actually i am the only one from my batch at the dinner...haha....the rest all junior...they are all very nice....at least i din feel tat i'm the odd one out....the ones in the dinner were Natalius,Prescillia,Sheng Han,Trista,Hussein and the other was Siong Huo's classmate...Sorry din noe his name...i'll go check later...haha...

I really ate a lot....even though i also ate a lot at the noon...++....i ate 6 fried chickens,some fried potatoes,a lot of drinks..haha and 2 ice cream....so basically my exercise was no use lar....coz i ate more than the energy i spent...lol....

This week i felt very tired...need to do this need to do that...and somemore most of them are not my academic stuffs ++ i really need to spend this week study again...but everytime want to study i olwes feel like those things very hard to get inside my head ler...huff....maybe my brain is degrading...haha....and for a long time....finally...i got my INSOMNIA again....after 1 year cured oredi now come again....for 3 days i can only sleep after 3 oclock and wake up at 6 oclock and feel headache....then i go back sleep again until 7+ to prepare for class....haiyah....lame....

by the way Swinburne got battle of bands.....i really wants to join but got no ppl sing...and on the competition day my parents might come here....so of course i will accompany them...so no time for band lar..haha....i am a good boy rite??xp

Wah..this new sem is totally different from the previous ones...haha.....last time about week 7 we oredi have to submit a lot of assignment....but now seems like week 7 baru start the assignments...+_+".....next week we will have 3 subject test ....and if i'm not mistaken two of them are on the same day...they are TSD and MD1...++"....if DED dunno when...maybe if not tuesday then friday..

By the way this sem i do a lot of exercise hahaha......almost every week i play badminton 2 or 3 times like tat.....and at least every week i walk once or twice from uni to my house...it takes about 30-35 minutes per trip...^^...

another thing is Heroes season 3 oredi come out...haha...but....yeah...like everyone say....not that fantastic lar...many new things just come out together and i think the storyline become so messy with every character have their own story and not related to each other...

I'm happy that tis sem i have the chance to teach my students engineering maths B..since tat is my favorite engineering maths subject...totally calculus and complex number...which are the topics that i like most....

so long i din updated my blog (again)

A bit busy these few weeks...coz i juz move my house to other place...haha...i spent my whole holiday just to do that ++...Luckily many people were helping us in moving our stuffs so we could make it quite fast^^

I oso oredi got my results for 2nd sem...1st time got straight HD..hehe...very happy wit that..i hope it will motivate me this sem..

Yesterday i just bought a book titled "Different Strokes Pencil Drawing" by David Poxon...It guides us how to setup up our tools for pencil drawing, explaining several drawing techniques etc...It costs quite expensive, about 67 bucks like that...so i need to find some way to make money again....^^

This week Swinburne is having a one-week holiday due to the relocation of campus...Thanks to that, now i really can enjoy my "break"...

Huff......i started doing my cover recording on the instrumental guitar song Triptych, which is song from Siam Shade.....I started on last Wednesday....and i finally finished recording the rhythm and backing lead guitar on Saturday...but after that i feel that the sound is kinda weird so i asked some suggestion from my bro....then he suggested me to set my guitar effect again and retake the recording...so i set my effect again today (monday i mean...hehe...just realised now is after 12 o'clock) and retake all the parts including the lead part....

there are some parts that are not perfect yet since my fingering and picking was not very good (and i'm quite lazy practising those stuffs every day...) haha...

yahoo!!!!!i finished my exam now!!!!!!!!

very happy!!!hahaha

i finished my exam on Tuesday...

and on Wednesday i slept until 11 o'clock.....haha.....to recover my sleeping time that is not normal this month.....

after i woke up then i start working on my own project...hehe....i planned to record a cover of Siam Shade's song "Triptych".....a instrumental song (guitar solo actually)......i got the bass and drum track somewhere on the Web and until now i oredi finished recording the rhythm and backing lead guitar part....

i recorded the tracks using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0.....it was really nice recording software...the guitar i used of course id my Ibanez GRG270x....Zoom 606 pedal....my sound card is Sound Blaster Live!.....hmmm.....the outcome was not so bad....since last time me,my bro and his friend had ever recorded using almost the same gears...

i planned to video-record my lead part...but it's hard to play the song perfectly by taking only one take.....so that's why now i'm still practising....

on Thursday.....hmmm.....it was very tiring...i taught maths a for 6 hours since my students are going to have their final next week....after teaching them....my classmates foo kiong, ah lung and soon how went to Hartz Chicken at Sarawak Plaza and had a BIG meal there...hehe...than after that we went watch The Incredible Hulk at the cinema...it was nice but so bad Giat Liang can't join us because he had something to do......

on Friday.....it was even more tiring than Thursday....coz i taught 8 hours...i did taught 2 hours of physics...and wahlaw wei......the foundation physics so tough lar...compared to us last time.....+_+"....then after teaching...we went to have dinner...and guess where was it?it was Hartz again...hahaha.....i think i will get fat very fast.....

seems that this year we got a lot of new movies to watch.....got The Dark Night,Wanted and many more movies that i want to watch...hehe.....

So long dun update my blog...haha

many things happened in May 2008....

Since early May i think...i started giving engineering maths tutorial class for foundation (Maths A) and diploma students (Maths 1)...it's quite fun actually...even though i need to stand for hours^^...but i love maths and i like to make other ppl like maths oso...and my students are so good to me...they always buy me foods ^^....

I'm happy that many of my students have shown improvement in their tests....and i hope they'll perform well in their final exam...

Since we have LEGO competition this month...our group always bring our robot to sch for testing....i made a small test field in my house using cardboard and MDF boards...and it performed well in my house...but who knows....when we bring to sch...many unexpected things happened because the field material is different from one in my house...and some lighting problems oso....it was on week 10 and 11 i think....

OK....lets leave LEGO first....i was so happy bcoz after 1 semester....i finally have time to do jamming and we performed in Swinburne Night 2008.....Our band consist of me (guitar and vocal), my bro (drum), Iman (guitar), Jofry (keyboards) and our great bassist, Russell...it was very nice to play with Russell again since the songs we play have quite tough bassline....but he played them perfectly......

We played 2 songs....one is Keep The Faith form Bon Jovi and Driver's High from L'arc-en-Ciel...a famous japanese band.....it can be said that it might me like a farewell performance...hahaha....sound so dramatic....bcoz my bro, Russell and Iman are having their last semester in Swinburne now.....but our biggest problem (this always happen in my bands since my junior high school until now) is finding a vocalist....yupz.....my bro's fren....who was our vocalist in Prom Night 2006 has graduated....and our vocalist for Prom Night 2007 has left Swinburne...so finally i sing.....+_+"......my tone are very low....and u know....it's terrible for me to sing rock songs....but we dun have time and none of us have frens who can sing....

We only practiced twice b4 performance....bcoz days near to Swinburne Nights are full of assignments.....and we jam on Wednesday and Thursday only.....but OKlar...luckily we still managed to win the 3rd place for the best performance....

Two day after the Swin Night was LEGO competition......it was basically a competition for robots made by our classmates.....A group of 3 or 4 must design a robot using LEGO parts and AX-11 as the controller....The class was divided into 2 groups, Group A and Group B....the winners and runner-ups for each group are eligible to fight in semifinals.....Our team (team G) was in Group A together with team B,A and H....During the preliminary round, we won team A and H, but we lose to team B bcoz i forgot to check the sensor before the game starts....but luckily we still can go to semifinal because we are the runner-up for Group B....

In semifinal, we met the winner of Group B, which is team E...and we won 2-0....team B won the semifinal oso......

Then in final we met team B again....and this time we won 3-1......i was so happy coz we are the only team who can score 3 pucks in one game....

hmm...

time passed away so fast these days....

but i think 2 weeks later i'll have more free time...coz i should've finished my presentation....the only BIG project that we should accomplished is lego project...but it's interesting so it doesn't really pressurize me...

i went to easter rally '08 organized by the St. Jo's Youths on saturday nite....it was very interesting events...the band is awesome, and for all the organizers....two thumbs up for u!!!The was one singer from KL called Mark David that also plays guitar.....and guess what is his guitar?? It is Yamaha silent guitar!!It was cool!!I was lucky to be able to see the real guitar...hahaha....The stage are also very nice...the lightings, everything are very good, except for one....the sound system...it was not really that good for a big event like this...i wonder if someday i can perform on a nice stage like tat...but...i'm not really tat good...so maybe i wont hav a chance like tat lar...haha...

mmm...it's midnite 2 am oredi...i need to get slept asap...see u again....

Trip to Sematan

Just went back from Sematan this afternoon....haha

To end our mid-break,yesterday me, my bro, Dian, Nia, Yung Yaw, Sze Yie and Meng Ciang went to Sematan...

We decided to go Palm Beach, but bcoz it's expensive so we go Holiday Chalet lor....We departed from Kuching about 3 o'clock and arrived there about 4 o'clock i think...^^

First thing we did i unloading things that we bring...drinks, foods, clothes and many more...and do some housekeeping stuffs...then after that the boys (me, my bro, yaw and meng ciang) were "So High"-ly walk from Holiday Chalet to Palm Beach....it was quite far away, about 1 hour+ walking back and forth....i took back 3 snail shells from there...nice2 one^^..but not nicer than meng ciang's ones....

after we arrived again in holiday chalet, we start preparing for the BBQ...it took a long time for us to set up the fire...bout 1 hour+...i think wat made us wait so long is the charcoal...got something wrong maybe.....then, we roasted chicken wings, beef and sausages,mmmmm wait...we also roasted some fish brought by yaw....very nice one........but i think we bring too many foods there...haha...then we were just talking while we finish our big meal...after that then we tidy up things and everything and we watched Executive Decision, a 90's must-see action movie....but we all slept b4 finish watching.....

okay....today's morning after we woke up then we play Playstation brought by yaw....we play fighting games.....it's X-Men vs. Marvel or something lik tat lar...oso 4get...just play nia.....We cooked "Mie Sedaap", noodles we bring from indon....very delicious one...and suddenly the elctricity got blacked out, so we cant continue the game lor......after that then we packed things and checked out....

We had our lunch at one of the kopitiam near the market....the ABC there is very nice but the food not so tasty.....then after lunch we continue our trip to bau....

we got play water there, but the river a bit dirty and the water go so fast....it's quite dangerous 4 someone who cant swim like me....after paly 4 sometime then we go back Kch lor....then that's the trip lar...

i forget 2 bring cameras so i couldnt post photos here....sze yie got bring luckily...so i just wait 4 her to post to her blog then i just grab it..hehehe

1.Hiro vs Adam
This one i draw last sem...i am a Heroes-freak actually.....he4......I use 2B mechanic pencil and wood pencil....My Hiro doesn't really looks like him+_+"....especially the hair...ha4

2.Kid-Shin

One of my favorite.....hehe.....ppl who like Detective Conan must know^^....Ironically, Kid (Kaito Kuroba) and Shinichi Kudo have very similar face....it does make sense because a mangaka always has one certain model for his main character. FYI,Gosho Aoyama wrote Magic Kaito (featuring Kid as the main character) before he began to wrote Detective Conan....I drew this picture using 2B wood pencil with some image editing to put extra shadowing....i drew it just few days b4 this semester starts

3. My Picture

This one is a picture of mine...hehehe....the picture itself is a bit more handsome than me actually...and i'm A BIT fatter than it....i drew it on a loose leaf paper (the lines are still can be seen)....photocopied it....and put shadowing using 2B mechanic pencil....i drew it on my Maths 1 class...and when we have break, Mdm.Seibu (our lecturer) said "Siswoyo, so this is what you do in this 1 hour?" and I said "Yes"...+_+"...ha4.....those days in sem 1 are really funny.....i can stay in sch for more than 12 hours a day coz i always have nite class and actually i like to play in sch lar.....FYI, the guitar is Ibanez GRG270x...the one just like mine...my guitar's fretboard has dark color with white inlays whereas my drawing is swapped...coz i felt it hard to draw strings in dark fretboard....

4. The Explosion

A very messy picture...Based on Tim Sale's drawing on Heroes TV Series painting "The Explosion"...Actually it is New York exploding...i drew it using 2B mechanical pencil, making shadows by scrubbing tissue paper on my drawing...and erase the unwanted part.....The buildings I just drew whatever I had in my mind...he4...and i put a person on the center of the explosion...it's Peter Petrelli actually....

i've waited so long for mid term break...

finally i only got to wait for one more week...

at first there were 3 tests on week 7...but because of...eemmm....i dunno wat is that...Maths and MOS lecturers got postponed the tests to week after the break...hue4...so we got only Elctronics Systems test....but still...it's so difficult...ha4....but during the break we need to finish alot of things ler....the ES lab report, PE report, MOS report, LEGO tasks, study for Maths and MOS tests.....HUH!!!and i'm quite sure i'm gonna to only have fun during the break^^...

oya...yesterday i got go PC fair...i went there with my classmates, giat liang, foo kiong, soon how and brother lung (chiang lung)......i bought a DVD writer....it's bout 15 ringgit cheaper than usual....and mine is oso broken...so i buy lar...

many of memory device like thumb drive,USB MP3 player and so on become extremely cheap...last year i bought my 2GB thumb drive for rm60, now the same thing only rm25.....wahlaw wei....i think it can go cheaper tomorrow...ho4.....

wawawa...so long i havent do jamming ler.....i heard next weekend got Dance Party in Swinburne...my friends and i wan go perform....but haven practise and we dun have singer oso.....hope still manage to play lar...ha4...^^

life in sem 2 is quite tough....

all the lecturers make our life so simple in the first few weeks and now they give us many assignments,lab, etc....

more importantly...i think i'm now getting so easy to put off things that i'm supposed to do...huh....i dont even realise that we should submit our professional engineering report next month....and we haven't even start to write anything yet...not because i dun wan 2 write...but because i'm not good at those stuffs....(it's like having to write another study n info and research report)

recently i'm quite annoyed with somebody....umm...as friends, it's normal to help each other in many aspects of life...but...i really can't stand somebody who ask for help when he/she does no effort AT ALL...if that person is not really capable of doin somethin..but he/she put some effort...i'm willing to help..

BUT..this person...i would rather say....actually is quite good...and i think he/she doesn't really need much effort to finish his/her stuffs...but he just have fun and do nothing....in the end he ask "help" from his friends...mmm...it's unfair...i hope that person will change lar...

by d way i think my insomnia comes back again after almost half a year....ha4..it doesn't happens oftenly..but it's enough to disappoint me...mmm...i dunno why..sometimes i find it very hard to stop thinking bout something before i fall asleep...unless i'm so tired then i will fall asleep immediately...even in normal situation....i need at least 30 minutes to fall asleep after i go to bed..

i read a book titled :60Second Sleep-Ease by Shawn Currie & Keith Wilson...which giving me some tricks to work out insomnia...they are good...but i just dun think that they are applicable to me...ha4

Oh my God..

I have to 'face' 4 tests withinin these 2 weeks(10 days actually)...I personally dunno how to start preparing..+_+"

Especially for the subject called Materials and Processes.....It's somehow like chemistry but less calculation and more things to memorize and understand.....but which part should I memorize and which part should I understand?

By the way I will have my 1-week mid term break next 3 weeks....ho4...If possible I will go jamming wit my friends...It's been soooooo long since the last time I jammed....of course I won't forget to watch the first episode of the second season of Heroes..

I had a very strange dream last nite.....I was dreaming of my bro bought me an electric bass with the size of an electric guitar....Ummm....actually it's exactly the same as an electric guitar except it has 4 strings...ho4....am I really desperate to play bass??I dunno.....

Recently I feel so hard yet so easy to sleep....When I dun wanna sleep..I just fell asleep...while I wanna sleep...I can't sleep...shit...It's really annoying me....Last nite I fell asleep 3 hours (approximately) after I went to bed...

Rainy Sunday

Ummm..

It was raining today..Actually there's nothing special if it rains, but I just have a different feeling if it rains on Sunday...a feeling like I'm having picnic on the mountain and it remains me with my high school life...Sunday was the only day I'm totally free and the only day I can wake up at 11 o'clock in the morning..I remember playing with the rain two years before with some of my friends..and fortunately we din' get sick..ho4...

By d way...Sunday Morning from Maroon 5 is one of my schoolmates' favorite songs....yeah..it was the last few months of my Year 10...It rained almost everyday...and we enjoyed those rainy days singing this song.

Ok...let's get back to today's story...

I din' do many things today..coz i woke up at 12...ho4....

I helped my brother doin some stuffs and I do some of my engineering drawing homework....

Fyuh....I hate to draw things in details and measuring each millimeter of the drawing just made my eyes tired...but I have to learn how to enjoy it as it may be helpful for me in the future..ha4..actually they are not so bad but I need time to fall in love with them(drawings-RED)

Hi guys..I'd like to share some stuffs about me..

My name is Riady.I was born on 10 December 1989 in an Indonesian city named Pontianak. Both my parents now live there. I was the youngest child of the family. I have a sister working as a system analyst in an IT company in Indonesia and a brother currently taking his final year Undergraduate study in Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak)

Education
I received my primary education in SD Gembala Baik I (1995-2001) and my junior high school in SLTP Gembala Baik (2001-2004), both are Catholic education institution.

After graduating my junior high, I enrolled to President Senior High School (2004-2006). It was a so-called semi-military boarding school. The school itself is located in Cikarang, a small but nice city in Bekasi, West Java. Science and Maths subjects were taught in English (well, with some Indonesian) there, which I think help me a lot now.

0n 1 July 2006, after my two-year study in President SHS, I enrolled to Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak) in Malaysia to pursue my Foundation in Engineering program.

I graduated my Foundation degree on 14 August 2007 and now I'm doing my first year Bachelor in Engineering program majoring Robotics and Mechatronics

Hobbies
I like to spend my spare time playing guitar, jamming and listening to music. I also like drawing and reading books (although I don't understand the contents). I'm also interested in Maths and Physics (even they sound complicated for me)

Personality
According to the book Personality Reality! by Patrick D. Yanello, I have an *(asterisk)-kind of personality, meaning I'm an emotional person. It's not totally true but it's not totally false also...hua4...I like to make friends and have fun, but I hate people being kind with me for their personal gain.
